01 · COSTS
How Much Does a Termite Treatment Cost in Perth?
A responsible treatment price cannot be set from the street address alone. The active location, building construction, accessible perimeter, paving, footing depth, soil and concealed services all affect the treatment design and labour. FAB inspects first, explains the evidence, then provides a property-specific treatment quote.
Treatment quote
Free
For visible live termites or fresh damage. A fixed treatment quote — not a comprehensive inspection or formal report.
Standard residential
$249
Launch price, normally $299. For standard 1–4 bedroom homes.
Large residential
$349
For 5+ bedrooms, larger or two-storey homes.
Treatment credit
$125
Credited toward an approved treatment of $600+ booked within 60 days.
All displayed prices include GST. Acreage, multi-structure, commercial and unusually complex properties receive a fixed quote before booking.
Why site conditions change a treatment quote
This genuine FAB field video shows careful hand excavation around electrical, gas, irrigation and plumbing services. These constraints affect access, time and the treatment zone required around the home.
A room built below the external ground level can also change excavation depth and the amount of product needed. That is why FAB does not invent a flat whole-home treatment price before assessing the site.
Insurance reality
Does home insurance cover termite damage?
Termite damage is commonly excluded under home insurance policies, so homeowners should check their own Product Disclosure Statement and speak with their insurer about their specific cover.
02 · LOCAL CONDITIONS
Why Perth Homes Need Ongoing Termite Awareness
Subterranean termites live in colonies connected to the soil, which supplies the moisture they need. They can build protected shelter tubes over masonry and other materials to reach susceptible timber. CSIRO: Managing termites
Perth properties combine sandy soils, established gardens, concealed slab edges, plumbing penetrations and varied building styles. None proves activity on its own; together they are reasons to keep the building edge visible, correct moisture problems and follow a risk-based inspection schedule.

03 · DETECTION
Warning Signs of Subterranean Termites
Mud shelter tubes
Thin mud workings on brickwork, slab edges, piers or timber can protect termites while they travel.
Hollow or papery timber
Skirtings, architraves or frames may sound hollow because termites can consume timber internally.
Discarded wings
Shed wings near windows or lights can follow a termite reproductive flight. Flying ants can look similar.
Changes to timber
Soft spots, fine blistering or unusual movement in a door or window deserve professional assessment rather than a DIY diagnosis.
These are possible indicators, not a diagnosis. WA Health notes that termites can be difficult to detect and advises engaging a licensed pest management technician. WA Health: Termites and your home
04 · IF YOU FIND ACTIVITY
Do Not Spray or Disturb Suspected Termites
Spraying or disturbing termites can cause activity to move elsewhere, making the termites harder to locate and treat properly.
- 01
Leave the area intact—do not break open or remove affected timber.
- 02
Take clear photos of the activity and its exact location.
- 03
Arrange a professional inspection so the evidence can be assessed.
WA Health specifically advises homeowners not to disturb termites with household sprays or by removing infested wood. Read the WA guidance
05 · INSPECTION
What Happens During a Comprehensive Timber Pest Inspection?
The free treatment quote and paid inspection are different services
Free Termite Treatment Quote: for owners who can see live termites or fresh damage. FAB assesses the activity and prepares a fixed treatment quote. It is not a comprehensive timber pest inspection or formal report.
Comprehensive Timber Pest Inspection: accessible interior, roof void, subfloor and external perimeter areas are inspected. FAB uses physical sounding and moisture detection where relevant, then supplies a written report with photographed findings and recommendations.
AS 4349.3 sets requirements for timber pest inspections and reports in buildings. Standards Australia: AS 4349.3

The deliverable
A written, photographed report
The report records visible activity, damage, conducive conditions, inaccessible areas and practical recommendations in plain English. It gives you a dated record—not a verbal “looks fine.”

Treatment Design, Installation & Ongoing Management
The correct response depends on the evidence, active location, construction and existing termite management. Finding activity does not automatically mean every property needs the same treatment.
Inspect and map
FAB identifies accessible activity, damage, entry conditions and constraints before recommending work.
Design for the property
The proposed scope may involve targeted work or a broader soil management zone, depending on the findings.
Document and monitor
After installation, FAB supplies a Certificate of Installation and sets a risk-based inspection interval.
Site preparation is part of precision treatment
Trenching, drilling through perimeter paving and exposing the correct soil zone can be the most labour-intensive part of the work. The video shows why footing levels and soil contact must be understood before the scope is finalised.
Any registered termiticide is applied strictly according to its approved label, including site and soil conditions. APVMA: Understanding pesticide labels
FAB recommends inspections every 6, 9 or 12 months according to the property's risk, environmental surroundings and conducive conditions; WA Health advises at least annual professional inspections and more often for higher-risk situations. WA Health guidance
